Sandalwood (Santalum album) is a tree that can reach up to nine meters in height; after several years, it is harvested for the extraction of its precious essential oil. It grows mainly in India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Taiwan.
The essential oil, with an intense, delicate, and sweet-woody scent, is obtained by steam distillation of the wood and roots of the plants.
The fragrance of Sandalwood essential oil is woody and full-bodied. Its scent is long-lasting and stimulates creativity and intuition.
Its main functions are: anti-anxiety, calming and stress-relieving; antiseptic, meaning it balances and moisturizes dry and cracked skin.
