Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin) is an herbaceous plant of the Lamiaceae family, cultivated in Malaysia, tropical Asia, and Oceania.
Its aroma evokes a forest scent; it has a very intense, earthy-herbaceous fragrance, obtained by fractional distillation of the shoots, young tops, and fermented leaves.
Its main actions include counteracting water retention and cellulite, antifungal activity on skin and mucous tissues, and healing properties, promoting tissue repair.
